Club Information

Des Amis meetings are held the third Wednesday of every month 7:30 - 10:00pm.

It is an informal gathering of friends who are interested in speaking French and learning about France and other Francophone cultures.

Everyone is welcome at whatever level of French they are capable of speaking. However, we do ask that you respect that people have come to speak French and that you make every effort to maintain conversations in French.

Meetings. Each month our “meetings” are much like a party. They are held in a different member’s home and each member is expected to bring either a beverage such as wine, beer, etc or an hors d’oeuvre to share such as quiche, pate or cheese and bread. Note: Please do not bring food expecting the host to provide serving dishes or utensils.

If you cannot bring anything, we ask that you contribute $10 (This is in addition to the annual dues). This money is used to buy cups, napkins, garbage bags and supplementary food and beverages.

Membership. Annual dues are $10. Cash is preferred. Dues can be paid at the meeting.

Guests. We welcome guests and ask them to contribute $15. They are not expected to contribute food or drink. First time attendees, who would like to join and bring food, will only be charged the $10 membership dues.

Volunteers

Volunteers are needed throughout the year. Our organization cannot function without them! Annual dues are waived for members who volunteer.

• Hosts – This is the most important volunteer. Hosts only have to offer their home (house or apartment) that can accommodate 30-40 people. Or, you can host when the weather is warmer (not too hot) where we can have the meeting outdoors. Hosts do not have to buy or supply anything.

• Greeters – Greeters are important to keeping the friendly atmosphere we have built. And, it is a great way to meet people! Greeters welcome members and guests at the door, collect dues or guest fees and distribute information and name tags.

From downtown:

Take I-85 North to GA400 North. 

Continue on GA 400 to Exit 5B (Sandy Springs)

Continue on Abernathy Road approximately 2 miles to Roswell Road.

Turn Right (north) on Roswell Road.

Continue approximately 2 miles to Dalrymple Road (2nd traffic light)

Turn Left onto Dalrymple Road. 

Turn Right at the 3rd street on the right - Princeton Way (2nd entrance to Princeton Square Subdivision).

Continue until Princeton Way dead ends.

Turn Left onto Cambridge Way.
